And she cooks....

For a gal who doesn't care much for cooking, I've done very well this weekend.
A pot of black bean chili that got raves, some garlic spread, a couple of one-pot dishes, fed an entire game watch party.. twice! I made up a crock-pot chicken tikka masala tonight and some peanut butter chocolate fudge. And did I mention the pot of Perfect Rice? Yes, perfectly done.

I'm almost ready to make myself an apron.. but oh yeah... the sewing room is still a disaster. Especially since "cleaning up the house for a watch party" involved tossing everything into that room.

Can't do it all!

Confessions of a Gearhead Grrl

I confess. When sweetie wanted to go to the World on Wheels car show at Bartle Hall, I did try hard to be sensible and defer to better reason, because hell, it was $30 for tix for us plus brews.

But the Gearhead Grrl in me, who took pix of engines and cars like the 56 Nomad






...just couldn't do it. We had to go. I practically drooled over this gorgeous 56 Stepside:




And lets' face it, that engine ain't for nuttin' but show and braggin' rights, and terrorizing others.



So yah. I can't say no to Car Shows wit ma baby. $15 each worth of eye candy and yakkin' with the builders and reminiscing about our own old cars is well spent.
